Click: buy… a fifteen bedroom chateau
Condition: ‘may require improvement’
It seems like a good idea. Sell everything we own. Swap our modern little London flat for an entire chateau in the middle of France.
It’s always been our dream. And now it’s coming true. Because who wouldn’t want this?
As I use the rusty key to open the big, creaking wooden door of the fairytale chateau that’s officially our new home, I wonder: what could possibly go wrong?
Turns out my grasp of the language isn’t brilliant but I’d guess that the French for this is probably: L’EVERYTHING.
As the French sun blazes overhead, one thing’s for sure: it’s going to be a year to remember…

~Review~
Hi everyone,
Today, I’m bringing you a review for ‘The French Chateau Escape’ by Gillian Harvey. This was my first book that I’ve read from her and I enjoyed it very much.
In the book, we follow a married couple Emma and Mark who buy a chateau in France and go on the adventure of renovating it and making it their home. Their age difference is clear when the problems come to the surface as it is evident how different they are thinking. But nevertheless, they are trying their best to navigate the renovation of their new home. The things don’t go as they wish for and their relationship is on the rocks.
It was very nice to see that Emma didn’t give up when Mark ended in the hospital. She did her best to take things in her hands and on that path, she met other people from the area, learning what chateau means to them.I really liked how this story was about not giving up on your dream, even if you have hardships. We will always have hardships but it is important not to give up.
If you want a lift and something to show you that you shouldn’t give up on your dreams, no matter how crazy they are, pick up this book. Gillian’s writing will catch you and capture your heart, taking you to the wonderful chateau. It will be a nice journey, perfect for the colder months to snuggle under the blanket, get cozy and read.
Thanks to Rachel for the tour invite.
Don’t let anyone dull your sparkle.
